Snake – A Hollywood celebrity makeover

Now check this out, probably most of you fans know about this already but, I’m adding an extra Hollywood star to contribute to Snake’s overall physical appearance, most importantly his face. By now most of his fans would have probably heard that snake’s facial features are made to look like a combination of some Hollywood actors like Kurt Russell, Mel Gibson etc. However my first guess at this topic would have to be, almost definitely Kurt Russell. I wouldn’t be surprised if Hideo Kojima would rate ‘Escape from New York’ as his personal favorite.

If you’re getting my drift, check out these pictures below. They talk for themselves. I confirmed this probable guess after I played metal gear solid sons of liberty. There is this sequence in the plant chapter in which Vamp is introduced slaying some seal team members with a knife. Later you find solid snake in the fight and you save him from it. After the sequence Raiden (you) ask for his name and snake curtly replies Iroquis Pliskin. IF you probably remember Kurt Russell’s character name in Escape from New York is Snake Pliskin. Makes for a good match right?

Or maybe Kojima was trying to indicate that Snake is a fan of the movies. But take a good look at the picture, the eye patch, the hair it all matches to Big Boss’s image, except that for big boss the eye patch is on the left side. However solid snake to me looks more like Clint Eastwood from the Dirty Harry movies. If you’ve not heard of the Dirty Harry series then you should probably take a look at it. It features Clint as a hardcore cop with his Smith Wesson hand cannon, blasting of mafia and wrong doers to society. He plays detective Harry Callahan. Take a look at the images below.
